gwywnnyddOK, there are a few positions that a new company must fill as soon as tehy get larger than about, oh, 6 employees. Tthe one most recently brought to my attention: a bookeeper. Someone who can do the FUCKING PAYROLL. Excuse me, someone who can do it RIGHT. Remembering to do things like: withhold insurance premium payments. Withhold 401k contributions.
Oh, and maybe starting to have the paystubs reflect PTO, rather than simply salaried hours at regular time. It's not that I greatly object to going to the office manager to ask how much PTO I have earned/spent, it's just that I'd like to be able to get that answer, oh, on a weekend when I'm planning my holiday season (as an example).
It's the insurance premiums that bother me most. I live in fear that I will get four or five months worth of premiums withheld from a single check, just to bring it up to date.
