So, I'm reading a discussion thread, that's mostly grumping about 'Why can't men find their own stuff?'. And I find myself wondering, do same sex couples tend to fall into the same dynamic, where one person is 'The Keeper of The Stuff', and the other is unable/unwilling to do their own looking, or is that dynamic restricted to stereotypical hetero couples?

The Rev. [livejournal.com profile] nyterose says same sex couples fall into it too. Just ask both parties where the remote is. Of course, since he's a straight male, I'm not sure he's really qualified to answer. ~snerk~

Interestingly, with my ADD, the Reverend ends up being the Finder/Keeper of the Stuff. Unless he's sans his glasses... then I become the Finder of the Glasses... lest he start having to emit high-pitched squeaks to navigate.

..high pitched squeaks..
*giggle*

I find this funny, because I knew someone in High school who could call his home, and whistle the handshake tones to trigger his modem...

I've taken to answering "Where is my..." questions with "It's on the nearest flat-ish surface where you were standing when you last finished with it."
Which is *such* an MS tech support answer...

Wouldn't MS tech support say something more like: "I'm sorry, but thing 2.0 entered extended support three days ago, so we can only respond to calls involving fire, gastro-intestinal upset, or demonic possession unless you upgrade to thing 2.5. Thing 2.5 can be purchased from the Microsoft store for $arm.leg, or from your nearest retailer."

I've heard tell of folks that could get free long distance by whistling, but never trigger the dial-in modem...

bwaha.

... of course, now, I suspect the Rev. is going to start using that answer at me. >.>

Yes, Same sex couples have the same kinds of divisions. We used to joke during panels that "She takes out the brown spiders, and I take out the black ones." Except, it was actually true. ;-)
