Yay!, Meh, and Crap :(

Yay! I start a contract on Monday, with my former company :). They've identified that, at the very least, I have 3.75 years of company information in my head. And that's the only place it exists... This makes me valuable :). 1099 contract, which a new experience for me. Must cxonsult with a couple of folks, see what the gotchas are (What do you mean I have to find my own medical coverage?!). Oh yeah, and make sure I'm setting aside Uncle Sam's chunk with each check, rather than get a nasty surprise next year :).
Yay! Pt. II: Spent yesterday afternoon with treebyleaf, handcow, and then the evening with mollybike and the LJ-challeneged Mr. Handcow. Got crafty stuff done (OMG I can get so much done when I'm not being distracted every 4.36 minutes with "Mama, wait on me!"). Had much fun chattering. Decided this must happen more often.

Meh: Concerns about friends of mine, and worries about supporting my family. Should be eased, but I'm Speshul :}.

Crap: Feeling like hammered sh!t. Yesterday started noticing my neck hurting a bit (Well, I was doing lots of cutting and tracing, I probably held my head weird). Then, on the way home, my throat started hurting (uh oh). By the time I got home, swollen glands, massive sore throat, headcahy, CRAP. Not much fever, and 'twas pointed out to me that this is how I respond to black mold, so may have come in contact with that at some point yesterday. That would be bad. The other option is that I got some other illness, which would be worse, so I'm hoping this is just an allergic reaction :}.

Off to spend the day lumpishly on the couch, deflecting the Bug's requests for service.

Good luck! It was a bit scary at first with Eoghan doing the 1099 bit too.
