Jan. 6th, 2007 08:58 pm1. What is your SCA name? (You don't have to write the full name, just your first name if you want.)
Gwywnnydd ap Gwlenn. For now. It's utterly non-documentable, so I'm going to have to come up with something else.
2. What is your home kingdom?
An Tir
3. Have you ever lived in another kingdom? If so, where?
Yes, Midrealm (during a hiatus...)
4. Do you remember your first SCA event? When/what was it?
Oh, yes. Autumn War 1994. Got yelled at by a drunken Constable (in Charge, as it turned out. He's consistently failed to impress me...)
5. Do you have any awards? (You don't have to list them if you don't want)
No, not yet. Still hoping my life will settle enough that I can focus enough to earn one.
6. Do you list them after your name in communications like e-mail?
N/A
7. Do you have a device?
Nope, have a semi-formed idea of what I want.
8. Do you use it? On what?
N/A
9. Are you on all the kingdom/society lists available to you, or do you avoid them?
Mostly I'm on household lists, figuring that anything important that comes across the larger lists will get forwarded.
10. Do you keep your Pennsic/Estrella/Gulf Wars/etc. site tokens?
I keep all my site tokens. It's only in the last couple of years that I haven't *worn* every single one.
11. Do you keep the favours you've been given by royalty/friends/Sos, etc.? Do You wear them all?
I have a few personal ones, and more household ones. Yes, I wear them.
12. Do you call your friends by their SCA names even when you're not at an event?
I call my friends by the name I was introduced to them as. So, if I first met them at an event, I call them by their persona name. If I met them at a Con, I call them by their Con name. And so on...
13. Do you go out to dinner in garb after an event?
Yeah, unless I've stopped at home first. When I get home I want a long hot shower and use of a thing that goes *flush*. After that, I'm usually not interested in getting back into garb. But if I'm stopping for food on my way home, yeah.
14. Do you have all kinds of garb, or do you generally stick to one period?
Early Celtic/ Norse, branching off into 16th C. Flemish.
15. How many interests do you have within the SCA? What's your favourite?
Costuming, waterbearing, cooking. Have done feast serving and constabulary. Much prefer costuming over all else :).
16. Do you have an SCA-oriented web site (to show off projects, keep dress diaries, etc.)?
no
17. Do you maintain a hairstyle that is more period style than modern?
If by 'period' you mean 'longer than waist length', yes.
18. Do you tell "No $###, there I was" stories? (Admit it.) Do any of them involve well-known SCA people?
A few :).
19. Authenticity is Fun. Yes or no? Why?
Yes, but it can be overwhelming at first. So, baby steps.
20. Is there one modern thing at events that really bugs you?
The damn COLOR of those Coleman lamps. The blue sheen hurts my eyes.
Bonus Question! 21. Everyone has a shameful garb/accessory mistake hidden somewhere in their past. What's yours? (We're all friends here, we promise not to laugh. Much.)
Hmm. Doing the period equivalent of walking a constabulary shift in my panties?
Edit: And, because Burgundy asked for it:
