Right. So, I have the accent of a region I have never spent any time in. Most closely followed by the region my mother grew up in (but across the fuckin' continent from where *I* grew up). Must be all that TV, generifying the national accent.

Yeah, I've never been there either... but apparantly I talk like them.

And really, you may not even be from the West at all, you could easily be from Florida or one of those big Southern cities like Dallas or Atlanta.
