They're so cute at that age...
Aug. 28th, 2006 08:18 pmAs an exercise in humility, I thought I'd remind myself of what I thought my parenting would be like, before I had kids (back when I knew everything).
A) My child(ren) wouldn't watch more than one hour of TV per year of age per day. That's just so cute :). I suspect I thought the housekeeping fairy would be spending all her time at my house...
B) My child(ren) wouldn't eat at McDonalds (or similar) until they were in kindergarten. Now, I know better. Now, I understand how kids can develop a daily Burger King habit. At this point, if I thought he'd eat it, I'd cook and serve the cat.
C) My child(ren) would be read to at least two hours a day. Clearly, this was predicated on the assumption that my kids wouldn't view books as spitwads in an easily transportable format...
D) My kids would grow up to love motorcycles as much as I do. Well, OK, this one I accomplished :).
