My dilemma about the clinical trials has been resolved. Reading the small amount of info I have, with greater comprehension, trials are open to ages 5-25.

Dammit.

On the upside, I have an appointment with my first NDI doc. I'm not sure whether to be pleased or disturbed that he remembered me, ~20 years after last treating me, and 13-14 years after last encountering me...

Oh, and I got some help from [livejournal.com profile] larsisbjorn, and got the carbs off my bike. Already identified some fasteners that I want replaced, with something not-phillips-head. Pulled the float bowls open, cleaned a distressing amount of rust silt from one of them. Aside from the silt, they looked pretty good. So, replacement gaskets, button her back up, see if that did the trick. Discovered I'm going to have to pull off the bikini fairing to check the tach cable connection, so that's on the list of things to do at some point (lived for ~2 years without a tach on my last Ascot, can live without one for a while on this one).

replacing fasteners is very wise. I replace all philips-head fasteners I can- I was above the arctic circle last week, had to cut off a plastic part because one fastener vibrated out and the other one had too soft of a head to remove. Now I wish I'd replaced that fastener before having to destroy and abandon a $41.50 part.
