OK, I've finally broken down and admitted that I need to get a new stereo for teh car. I can't get the current one serviced (the dealer recommends that I find a cheap replacement, since the OEM unit is non-serviceable and bloody ex$pen$ive). I just need the tape heads cleaned! But no.
So, The Evil Empire of Retail has an AM/FM+CD player unit, with four speakers, for ~$100. Sounds perfect (I'm not an audiophile, I see no point in spending more money for better speakers, since I wont notice a difference).
One problem. I don't know how to install either a car stereo *or* speakers.

Anyone on my friends list able to give me a name of someone who might be willing to help me out?

I think Car Toys has free install with anything over $100 and they often have things in the $109/129 range. They will of course try to upsell you, but for the reduced PITA factor, and the fact they they can have it in and out before you can finish a cup of coffee, might be something to consider.

Trouble is, WAlly world offers stereo+4 speakers for $100, Car toys wants $100 for the Stereo, and another $100 for speakers.
