I'm irritated with both my options for listening to music at work. I have a directory on my machine, that contains many subdirectories, and a couple thousand tracks all told. I like this.
I could listen to it in WinAmp. WinAMP allows me to select a directory, and even allows me to direct it to shuffle playback. It does not, however, allow me to direct it not to repeat tracks. So I could hear the same three tracks over and over again. Bleh.
I could try listening to in in Windoze Media player. But WMP wont let me tell it "Play this directory". I can tell it to play tracks from X album, but the ones I want to listen to are ~150 tracks from ~150 different albums. Double bleh.

So I'm grumpy about that.
But I get to borrow JT tomorrow and go to the zoo, so I'm not too grumpy :).

I think there are some PHP based web apps that can catalog your music, let you create playlists, etc. that WinAmp will recognize.

A couple of examples:
Zina (http://www.pancake.org/zina/index.html)

Jinzora (http://www.jinzora.org/)

Jinzora is the most mature a feature rich that I've tested out.

Winamp does have the option to "randomize playlist" which will move all the things in your playlist around, and then you uncheck he repeat box, and you should be good to go.
