Because opening my WetLeather mail and seeing 146 new threads is less daunting than seeing ~700 unread messages. Which is what I would be seeing after not reading WL for five days. Besides, I can skip the rest of the thread if I get bored with it.

Imagine being without my PC for most of a month. Something like 6000 emails, 98% WetLeather. I would never dare to get WL on my Pocket PC -- I'd end up with data overage charges, I'm sure, and I have 50MB a month. Gmail is a wonderful wonderful thing!
