Thoughts on death
Feb. 14th, 2005 03:58 pmYeah, I know, I'm all meme-y today :). It saves me from having to think.
What do you think happens after you after you die?
Physically? The useful remains get harvested, the rest is either burned or
rots, as one’s survivors decree. The soul begins another cycle, reborn
elsewhere to learn another lesson. Once all the lessons have been learned, and
the experience of everything in the universe can be grokked, then the soul
becomes a diffused part of the universe.
Do you believe in heaven?
More Nirvana than Heaven.
Do you believe in hell?
On Earth, yes.
Do you think you will be judged after you die?
By everybody I’ve left behind. By a greater power? No.
How many people would attend your funeral?
Bunches, probably.
Would you rather that people cry or laugh at your
funeral?
Laugh, totally. There are enough tears in the world.
What's better? A shot in the head or downing pills?
Having tried pills, I’d have to say a shot in the head.
What should be written on your tombstone?
She always worked to be better
Would you rather die childless or divorced?
I have a child. Since, to be childless when I die, he’d have to go before me, I’ll
take divorced thankyouverymuch.
Do you want to die in the morning, afternoon, or night?
Don’t have a preference.
If you had a million dollars to leave, who would you leave it to?
My kid(s).
What kind of flowers do you want at your funeral?
Irises
On your deathbed, which moment will you most remember?
The one I’ve been most recently reminded of
Have you ever watched someone die?
No. I’ve held someone who never had a chance to live, though.
What's the most gruesome death you can imagine?
Gruesome, or horrifying? They’re different. Horrifying would have to be
drowning. Gruesome, as in pure gross-out factor, would probably be falling from
a great height (splutch!)
How often do you think about death?
Often
Is fear of dying your number one fear?
Naw. Living alone, that’s much higher on the list.
Do you believe in reincarnation?
Yep.
Have you ever wished someone you loved were dead?
Sure. Everyone does. Most aren’t willing to admit it, and most aren’t serious.
Do you consider life short or long?
Depends on what you do with it.
Do you think you have a soul?
Yes.
Assisted suicide for a terminally ill person is:
A blessing.
If you were cremated, where would you like your ashes?
Umm, I’m done with them. Wherever, man.
Would you choose to be immortal, if you could be?
Tough call. It’d be neat to watch my enemies grow old and
die, but I’d have to watch my loved ones do the same.
