Y'know the 'Uncle Sam' bill board on I-5, somewhere around Centralia? The one that made your blood boil with how stupid some people could be? (Didn't actually matter which message gave you that reaction, *everyone* got that reaction from it at one time or another)

The owner (and author of all those messages) has died.
We'll see if his family continues the tradition.

A stylized Uncle sam (on both sides, the thing was visible from both northbound and southbound I5), and then a selection of spoutings-of-hatred about gays, democrats, minorities, anyone who'd gotten the owner bent this week. He had a particular hatred for Former-President Clinton, and often ranted about the latest scandal.

It was on private property, so there was nothing the State could do.

whether the tradition continues depends on how successful he was in passing on his predudices...

a few years ago the state tried to purchase the land in order to stop the billboard.
