Y'Know those paper plates that Papa murphy pizzas come on?
Y'Know how the baking instructions for Papa Murphy pizzas specifies only placing the pizza on the top rack?

Y'know why? I do. Now.

It's cause if you have that paper plate too close to the bottom heating element it will CATCH FIRE.
In an adrenaline-filled, choking-smoke-filled-kitchen, smoke-detector-going-mad kind of way.

I'm REALLY happy that the Bug was able to sleep through that detector.

Note to self: Do not attempt to save time by baking two pizzas at once. It only leaves you with carbon-tasting pizza.

ROTFL!!! I am laughing because I ended up making a giant "calzone" the other night because we bought a very fresh thin crust pizza at the grocery. The directions said to leave the pizza on the bakable styrofoam plate... I didn't "get" that mart and made quite the sticky mess on the Lyon's pizza plate. Needless to say.. I got "mean ears"
Nice to know I am not the only one with pizza perils.

FYI - don't ever let them touch the sides of the oven for the exact same reason.

The first time I ever got a papa murpy's pizza - I lived in an apt with this teeny tiny oven (about half the size of a regular oven) and bought an extra large pizza. I figured "no big deal".

10 minutes later my apartment was full of smoke, and the smoke detectors of about half the apartment building were going off.

After that I bought the medium pizzas, or got the extra large ones and cut them in half.
