Woot!

Mt. J. found a surgeon who's going to push to get his surgery done. Apparently the guy was "very blunt" (a Good Thing (tm) in J.'s world), wondered why arrnagements to do the surgery weren't made back in February (cause Overlake is The Suck, that's why), and explained the risks and rewards clearly, and is now pushing L&I to approve it so things can get moving.

WOOT!

Hallelujah!

Blunt good in medical, in my less than humble opinion.

Yeah, I can understand *why* so many in the medical profession are unwilling to be blunt (CYA stuff), but it does make it difficult to manage, say, J. as a patient when he figures that anyone who *isn't* being blunt with him is lieing to him. There is *no* middle ground.

PS way back in my days of agency work, Overlake was the only hospital I refused to go back to. There were 2 nursing homes on my "never-again-list", but only one hospital. It has been the place of much suckiness for a long time.

Yeah, I'm *really* unimpressed with the level of care he recieved there.
The final straw for me was thinking "Y'know, if *I'm* noticing the dust bunnies in the hospital room (as bad a housekeeper as I am), then they *really* need to fire their janitorial staff."

Blunt is a good thing in J's world... (B&W, remember) it inspires confindance... "I can hunt it and kill it"... It also makes the insurance people move because there isn't room for debate...

Now to get him under the knife...

in the not so distant past... Give J my best regards and wishes, and if you or he want to contact me I'll tell you as much as you want to know about the stuff I went through with L&I and who I know and like (and really don't) in the back surgery/rehab world.
