So there's a boy in NH, age 14, who has launched a legal action to sever his father's parental rights.
Why? Because his father is serving time for killing the boy's mother. Boy wants nothing to do with this man, but for the next four years, this man has legal rights regarding his son.

I hope he wins. I can't imagine what that must be like.

If he can show independance financially... it's no problem, if not he's in for a rough time... It's one of the reasons that I have a huge fear of the "rules" that society tries to enforce on me. the rules seldom take into account what makes sense.

He has a legal guardian, and wants to stay with them until he reaches majority. I get the impression that he wants to remove the father's rights to have any veto power in the boy's life . . .
