I shouldn't be this amused

I must be suffering from long-term sleep dep (Oh, yeah, I am, but anyway).
I saw the most amusing episode of Dexter's Laboratory the other day.
Evil scientist Dexter figures out how to give a dog (a labrador, to be exact) the power of speech, and the vocabulary to support this. Now he can know exactly what the dog is really thinking.

L: Labrador
D: Dexter

L: OH MY GOD, IT'S THE THING, COME LOOK AT THE THING, I FOUND THE THING, COME LOOK AT THE THING!!
D: Yeah? What about it?
L: IT'S THE THING! I FOUND THE THING! IT'S THE THING! I FOUND THE THING, OH MY GOD LOOK AT THE THING!
D: It's a capacitor. What's wrong with it?
L: LOOK AT THE THING! I FOUND THE THING! COME LOOK AT THE THING!

and so on.
I am vaguely disturbed that I laughed that hard. But, then, I've had Labs. As my drama teacher once said, 'People laugh when they hear truth'.

Yes Indeed that is the best description of a lab I have seen in a long time. I am glad that J is a great dane. LOL. ;)

Thank you. Now I know why Ryan goes off about "things" all the time. He must have seen that episode too. It had all the flavors of an injoke and I wasn't getting it. Now I understand.
