Y'know, if you don't know what is expected of you by a deadline, don't agree to the deadline. Further, don't agree to the deadline, then ask what was expected of you after the deadline has passed. At this point, I am waiting on you, and I want to go home.

I was recently offered a lead position at work.

Eh, I think I'll be tortured by boiling oil daily instead.

Needless to say, I stuck it out as happy ass peon.

The thing that sucks most about being responsible for other people is when the other people aren't responsible. It's way the Hell up there on my list of things that'll really get me hacked off. the nice thing about being responsible for other people in a professional environment is that repercussions are sometimes possible. I once had 20-odd volunteers reporting to me. That was a special kind of evil. If they didn't follow through, was going to punish them and cause them to stop volunteering altogether? ICK!
